Issues

Education
* Funding is but one condition for a successful educational
platform. Dedicated teachers, solid leadership, involved
parents and a strong community base are the foundation for
achieving that goal.
* Suitable compensation to attract and engage skilled
educators along with ample resources are fundamental.
* Georgia Government is obligated to institute a foundation of
educational opportunity for every student.
I will work persistently with local (District 40) school systems
to make sure we meet the requirements for receiving our
share of state funds.

Economic Growth
As a small business owner, I have witnessed first hand how the
recession has crippled the sector responsible for nearly 90% of
our job opportunities. There has to be more incentives to help
these businesses succeed.
Tax incentives and reasonable choices for employee insurance
can help in mending the burdens. But I will also support other
methods to stimulate JOB GROWTH in our community as long
as those projects don't include the "pork" prefix. It is the
working families that I support.

Public Safety
We all have a say when it comes to safe neighborhoods and
child protection. Without the involvement of the entire
community, its churches, schools and businesses can fall
victim to crime.
I am devoted to making sure local organizations, businesses
and leadership work together with law enforcement to
maintain a safe place to live, work and play. I support
legislation that allows for strict penalties for punishment, and
systems to monitor those who commit the most heinous of
crimes.

Health Care
The hot bed of all issues most recently. I believe we all want
the same things in Georgia: Jobs; Education for our children;
a safe place to live; and the good health to enjoy the rewards
of our labors; but this should not come at the expense of
others. As your INDEPENDENT State Senator, I will labor for
a sensible and equitable solution to our health care needs.
